St Brigid's Primary School incorporates a Stage Based learning environment from Preparatory to Year Seven.

In 2009 Stage Based Learning will be incorporated throughout the school in the following way:

  • Preparatory: children in their pre-primary year
  • Junior Stage: children from first to third year
  • Mid Stage: children from third to fifth years
  • Senior Stage: children from fifth to seventh years

Stage Based Education incorporates home groups (multiage groups of average class size chosen on sociological factors) where children are involved in Integrated Studies: Science, SOSE, HPE etc for part of the day. However, in journey groups for mathematics and language teaching and learning are more focused and intensive in recognition of the fact that they form the core business of schooling.

St Brigid's sets a high standard across all subject fields, we deliver the key learning areas (KLAs) plus a variety of additional subjects that are available for all students. Our teachers are committed and focused specialists in their field, and are trained to deliver the best possible learning outcomes. 1
